A Study On Emotion

Let me talk to you about emotion.
Without emotion you are dead, your body may live, but it's only your shell, your soul has gone.
Tell me how you feel emotion?
I can talk about Hate, Fear and Pain. Hate of the hounds. Can you describe it? Can you describe the howl of Pain a fox gives when a bullet forces its way between its ribs and punctures the lungs? And can you tell me of the fear, seeing your blood pool around you?
Can you describe the raw, bitter, unyielding hatred of that bastard who shot your brother? And can you describe the gut wrenching fear, when he points the gun at you?
And can you describe the horror when you see her step off the edge?
I can talk about Grief, at the wake, you know it's not enough, and you can't change a thing.

There's seven deadly sins, seven colours in the spectrum, but six greater and more terrible emotions.
Fear, Hate, Love, Joy, Grief, Apathy.

Let me talk to you about emotion.
Can you see the joy of the night? When the moon is full and you have the world to yourself? Over mountains and through cities you could run, forget the day, you could live!
Can you describe the smell of night air after rain? Can you describe the joy of freedom?

And love...What of the sameness, the knowledge that you will never be alone...
Through warmth and cold, be it over sea, 'till under stone, you won't have to be alone.

I can talk to you forever, through lesser and greater emotions.

Or it could end with apathy. Fitting? At the end, when it could be done, you could be great, but the willpower, inspiration and energy is lacking. It could be the end of the world, and you couldn't think, go back to sleep, finish another drink.

I can talk about emotion, as without emotion we are dead.
And then without motivation we have no substance.
Through lesser and greater emotions I could take you, I could show you how life works, the way the stars spin.

I can talk to you for an eternity,
Now you talk to me.
